PolarPro Chroma – product photography and content creation

Product photography and content creation for the PolarPro Chroma filter, combining field use in Croatia with an article published by Rajala.

The brief

I wanted to present the PolarPro Chroma filter as a tool whose value becomes clear through use. Product photography shows what a filter looks like. Practical examples and written content help explain why a photographer might reach for it. The project brought together product photography, field use during my own production work and an article for Rajala’s readers. The aim was to connect the product with a photographer’s experience in one coherent story.

What I did

I photographed the filter and built the content around my own experience of using it. The PolarPro Chroma PMVND/PL Black Mist 2–5 stop accompanied my production work around Dubrovnik, Croatia. Its variable ND, polarisation and diffusion functions provided a practical perspective on controlling light and the mood of an image. In the article, I explained how the filter fitted into my workflow, connecting its technical features with shooting situations and visual choices. The wider story of the trip is told in Point of Origin ↗. This case study focuses on the product photography and expert content created around the filter.

Delivered

• Product photographs of the PolarPro Chroma filter. • Experience-led content about using the filter. • An article published on Rajala’s blog: Elokuvallinen ilme hallintaan haastavassa valossa (Achieving a cinematic look in challenging light). Results

The project combined a visual presentation of the product with an article grounded in practical experience. Publication on Rajala’s blog added context for understanding what the technology means in a photographer’s work. This is a natural approach to product content for me: photograph the product, use it myself and explain the experience clearly. Product images and written content support one another.
