A commercial photograph needs a clear purpose: what should people see, understand or feel? I plan campaign photography around the message, audience and where the image will appear. Sometimes a simple product setup is right; sometimes the concept needs a carefully arranged scene with lighting, people and location.

We start with the campaign message, channels and available resources. People, props, locations and usage rights are agreed as part of the project. Video commercials can also be planned from the same visual concept.
Product photography can simply show an item accurately. Advertising photography usually builds a more specific visual message around it.
